History AirAsia
AirAsia established in 1993 with commenced operations in 1996. In 2001, Tune Air Sdn Bhd (Tony Fernandes’s company) purchased this airline from DRB-Hicom. AirAsia never look back after that. AirAsia’s first and main base is the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, while its secondary hubs are at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Senai International Airport and Penang International Airport.
AirAsia is well known as Malaysian low cost airline and even Asia’a largest low fare, no frills airline. The airlines claims ‘No Admin Fee’, but has some fees for services which are free on other airlines.

Being the home of AirAsia, the LCCT is the budget terminal in KLIA, opened on 23 March 2006. LCCT is said to be carried about 10 million passengers a year.
The AirAsia subsidiaries are the likes of Thai AirAsia, Indonesia AirAsia, VietJet AirAsia and AirAsia RedTix. Meanwhile, AirAsia associate companies are AirAsia X, Tune Hotel and Tune Money.

It is actually the first Airline in Asia to implement ticket less travel. Passengers make booking directly buy tickets online and just use a booking number to check in. They beat airlines in more developed countries like Japan, South Korea and Singapore. Malaysia Boleh!
It is no surprise that it was voted as the most popular website for online shopping in the survey conducted by AC Nielsen. In fact in March this year, it was reported that about 55% of ticket sales is generated online. (AirAsia: Online sales have eclipsed offline sales, Star In Tech, 8, March 2005, p. 3).
The website is available in seven different languages, including four on its Malaysian site. Registered members also receive promotions online though e-mails. Makes it the number one e-commerce company in Malaysia.
How to booking??
- Welcome to the AirAsia's mobile booking tutorial. To begin, select "Book a Flight" on the menu.
- Next, select Departure and Return Airport.
- Then key in your Departure and Return Date below with the following format: DD/MM/YY.
- Select the number of Passengers. Please note that the number of infants selected should not exceed those of the adult.
Select "Continue" to proceed - Select "Fare Rules" if you’d like to view the details of the
fare classes. - Once you’ve selected your flight, your Booking Summary
will appear. - To proceed, accept the Terms and Conditions of booking.
- Ensure all passenger information is completed.
- Please complete the contact details so that your itinerary can
be sent to you. If you are an AirAsia member, "Sign in" to
retrieve your details. - To choose your seats, click on "Pick My Seat".
- Choose Standard Seats to keep your travel party together or Hot Seats for extra legroom.
If you’re traveling with an infant, you can opt for the Bassinet Seat. - If you’ve selected a seat by the Emergency Exit, please examine if you meet the requirements.
- Once you’ve completed your seat selection, you can continue to payment.
- Review you payment details and then proceed to payment. You can pay via Credit or Debit card.
